LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
This section of the website lists links to
other websites which provide infomation of interest
to RCIA team members. The first category is links that deal specifically with
RCIA themes, and the second is links to websites of general Catholic
interest.
RCIA THEMES
There are two organizations which operate
institutes for the training of RCIA team members, and which provide various
materials and information of assistance to teams. They are the North American Forum on
the Catechumenate which is liberal in
orientation, and the Association of Catechumenal Ministry which is conservative.
Chris Sloan of Southwark
England has established a website rcia.co.nr which provides many useful documents and presentations
in Word and Power Point of interest to RCIA team members and other Catholics. There are several additional sites devoted
largely or exclusively to the RCIA process: Good News, RCIA
Graphics, e-Catholic, Religious Education and Catechesis, and Resources for
Catholic Education. The Catherine
of Siena Institute lists 29 websites under the category ”Becoming
a Catholic.” A number of dioceses and parishes have websites devoted exclusively
(or partially) to RCIA, and Catholiclinks tabulates 132 of them. The sidebar lists
several such sites, as well as several Scripture and Catholic News
websites.
GENERAL CATHOLIC
THEMES
The website Catholic
Theology lists sites for Academic Centers, Advocacy Organizations,
Ecumenism, Gender Issues, Liturgy, Marian Apparitions, Modernism, Scripture, and Social Justice. The Catherine of Siena Institute
provides links to many Catholic sites. New Advent tabulates links for the top 25 Catholic websites
ranked in the order of popularity, as well as making available the 1913 edition
of the Catholic Encyclopaedia and various
Church Documents. Catholic Pages and Catholic Culture contain many important articles and
documents.
A number of Catholic organizations sponsor
websites, such as the Benedictines, the Carmelites,
the Dominicans, the Franciscans, the Jesuits, Legion of Mary,
Opus Dei, and Regnum Christi.
OTHER PERSONAL WEBSITES
I have two other websites in addition to the present RCIA one. The first www.consideringpiusx.com established June 2005 tells the story of the Society of Pius X (SSPX) which was founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, and which went into schism with the Catholic Church in 1988. The Latin Mass is discussed here. We are all praying hard for the members of this Society, and we look forward to their eventual return to Holy Mother Church. My second additional website www.faithseekingunderstanding.com established August 2006 provides draft chapters of a book that I am writing with the tentative title "Reflections of a Scientist on his Christian Heritage." This website examines a range of topics including Theology, Science, and the interactions between them.
