Commandment
Honor thy
father and thy mother
Sacredness
of the family
The family
is called the domestic Church
Parents are
the primary teachers of
their children
We must
obey all legitimate authority
as
representative of God
3. Fifth
Commandment
Thou shalt not kill
All human
life is sacred
Murder is a
mortal sin
Unjustifiable
anger is forbidden
Killing in
self defense can be OK
Direct
abortion is always forbidden
Euthanasia
and suicide are wrong
Scandal is
morally wrong
4. Sixth
and Ninth Commandments
Thou shalt not commit adultery, or
covet thy
neighbor's spouse
Use
sexuality to respect God's plan
Integrate
sexuality with personhood
Overcome
disordered craving of lust
Forbidden are: fornication, adultery,
masturbation, prostitution, rape,
homosexual
acts, pornography
In marriage
sexual acts must be open
to life; no
artificial contraception
5. Seventh
and Tenth Commandments
Thou shalt not steal; nor shalt
thou
covet thy
neighbor's goods
Required -
just and loving stewardship
of material
possessions
Avoid
attachment to material goods
and excessive
accumulation of them
Keep promises
and contracts
Forbidden
are: business fraud, shoddy
work, unjust
wage, price fixing,
padding expense
accounts
Tenth
commandment forbids
greed -
obsession for wealth
avarice -
craving riches and power
envy-sadness at
another's goods
6. Eighth Commandment
Thou shalt no bear false witness
Lying and
perjury are not allowed
Do not
misrepresent the truth
or use duplicity
or hypocrisy
Two
terrible classes of lies:
Detraction -revealing a person's faults
Calumny - spreading lies about person
Everyone
has a right to privacy of his past
